DescriptionPromotes the emotional, physical, intellectual, and social well-being of girls and boys through preventive programs including mentoring, tutoring, recreational, and camp programs. 
 
Big Brother / Big Sister Mentoring Program 
* matching program for children ages 5 to 17 with Big Brother or Big Sister * 19 years and older * meets with child three hours a week * minimum of one year to take part in fun activities. 
 
Couples and Kids Mentoring Program 
* matching program for children ages 6 to 14 * couples 20 years and older * together more than a year * one or both adults can meet with the child * exposes children to positive and respectful family relationships. 
 
In-School Mentoring 
* partnership school boards in Halton * matches elementary school girls and boys with a caring adult mentor * volunteers 18 years or older meet with a child for one hour each week during school hours on school property * share in fun activities.  
 
The Club After-School Mentoring Program 
* tutoring and mentorship program * offered to boys and girls * grades 3 to 8 who need academic support * one-to-one homework tutoring * adults or teens (grades 9-12) volunteer one hour per week after school tutoring in a local elementary school * adult volunteers needed as Club site supervisors * should have teaching, social work, or other relevant experience working with children.  
 
First Mentors 
* recreation-based program * adults 19 years and older volunteer two hours a week for a one-month period * take a child on the waiting list to an organized activity * volunteers and children take part in arts & crafts, drama, games or sports * makes time waiting to be matched a little easier. 
 
Group Recreation  
* Agency plans special events monthly * children on waiting list can participate in a recreational activity on a regular basis * monthly events may include swimming, skating, crafts, special outings * recreation volunteers are 19 years and older * commit between three and four hours monthly to a group activity 
 
Summer Camp 
* Agency sponsors summer camp spots and other recreational activities for Little Sisters/Brothers who may not have the financial resources to attend a summer camp 
 
Earn-A-Bike 
* program for Little Brothers/Sisters who have never owned a brand new bike * complete 30 hours of community service such as cleaning public parks to earn a brand new Tim Horton's Bike. 
 
Go Girls 
* girls ages 12 to 14 * uses a mentor approach * led by young women * helps girls make informed choices about healthy, active living during a particularly challenging stage of development * runs in school for seven two-hour sessions * encourages mentor/participant relationship building.

Little Brothers, Little Sisters 
* ages 5-14 yrs * must be a resident of Oakville, Halton Hills or Milton  
 
Big Brothers/Sisters and Group volunteers 
* ages 19 and over 
* Club Tutors are high school students with minimum grade 9 and adults 
* Club Supervisors are adults 
Couples age 20 and over, together over 1 yr. 
 
First Mentors and In-School Mentors volunteers 
* ages 18 and over 
 
Eligibility is not limited to motherless or single parent families. Matches are found for children who are considered at risk and would benefit from the friendship of a mentor.  
 
The Club is open to children in grades 3-8 who are considered at risk. They are referred by their teacher to the program.
