Description (Service) | Visit website for the following: * Info- related to various substances and how to support a loved one * Help- listing of local Halton programs and services related to substance use * Overdose Reports * Stories Of Addiction & Recovery (SOAR) The key purpose of the Halton Equitable Drug Strategy is to: * prevent, reduce and eliminate the stigma and harms associated with substance use * reduce fragmentation * limit duplication of services * ensure well-informed community services and activities * improve access to community services HEDS is a collaboration of people with lived experience/ family members, as well as representatives from: * Halton Region * Halton Alcohol, Drug and Gambling Assessment, Prevention and Treatment (ADAPT) * Mississauga Halton Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) * Halton Regional Police Service * Peer Outreach Support Services and Education (POSSE) * Canadian Mental Health Association * the Halton Catholic and Halton District school boards * Support and Housing Halton * there may be opportunities for professionals and community members to get involved with the creation of the drug strategy through surveys, focus groups, community forums, or working groups * contact Angus Coll-Smith for further details |
