* improve the quality of life for those who live and work in the area  
* act as liaison between agricultural, recreational, residential, commerce and government interests with the intent of enriching the community through direct activity, cooperation and communication  
* be Informed of local issues, concerns and viewpoints, as well as pending laws or activities that may affect the community  
* be a strong, coherent voice  
* be a facilitator of communication, by creating opportunities for various viewpoints to be expressed  
* be transparent, by providing information via multiple methods
