Description and Service Details
Description (Service) Service include:

Transportation Services
  • volunteers provide low cost transportation to medical appointments, rehabilitation programs, adult day programs and dialysis for elderly persons, and individuals with cognitive, visual or physical disabilities who are unable to use regular transit * accessible vehicles available * cost is based on destination * minimum age is 18

Emergency and Disaster Services
  • provide emergency relief at the time of a disaster, through the provision of food, clothing, personal services, emergency shelter * available to provide free emergency personal preparedness workshops

First Aid & Safety Services
  • all levels of first aid and CPR training * babysitting and injury prevention workshops * Leadership and Advanced First Aid courses * first aid courses are Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) approved

Violence, Bullying and Abuse Prevention
  • promote safe and supportive relationships and healthy communities through educational programs and partnerships * service assists youth and adults in the understanding of abuse, harassment and interpersonal violence issues

Swimming Lessons
  • provide comprehensive learn-to-swim programs for all ages and a national lifeguard training program to certify professional lifeguards

Volunteers
  • volunteer opportunities available * call the branch for details
