Public Comments As of July 2016, the Canada Child Benefit (CCB) replaces the Universal Child Care Benefit (UCCB), the Canada Child Tax Benefit (CCTB) and the National Child Benefit Supplement * families who already get the UCCB or the CCTB do not have to apply for the CCB

The first CCB payment will be issued on July 20, 2016 * the last CCTB and UCCB payments will be issued on June 20, 2016

Description (Service) Tax free monthly payment to assist with the cost of raising children * the Ontario Child Benefit and the Child Disability Benefit will be added as supplements to the Canada Child Benefit for eligible families

Child Disability Benefit -- families who care for children with severe and prolonged mental or physical impairments
Application Apply online or download application and mail it to the appropriate tax centre * new parents can apply online through the 4-in-1 Newborn Registration Bundle

Families already receiving the Universal Child Care Benefit or the Canada Child Tax Benefit do not need to apply for the new Canada Child Benefit
