Description and Service Details
Description (Service) Offers support programs to people diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) or Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP). Support may be in the form of telephone contact, email support, or a hospital visit from a person who has had the same diagnosis. Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is a disorder in which the body's immune system attacks part of the peripheral nervous system. Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) is a neurological disorder characterized by progressive weakness and impaired sensory function in the legs and arms. Miller Fisher syndrome is a rare, acquired nerve disease that is considered to be a variant of Guillain-Barré syndrome.
