Description and Service Details
Description (Service) Volunteer service developed and implemented by Brain Injury Services to provide animal assisted activity and animal assisted therapy (AAA/AAT) to BIS clients by volunteers and their pets. Pets are evaluated and met certain veterinary and performance requirements. 
Volunteers BISHPets is also a supporter of the Hamilton Public Library's children's reading development program Paws for Reading.
Hours Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm
Areas Served Brant County ; Burlington ; Haldimand County ; Hamilton (City of) ; Niagara Region ; Norfolk County
Eligibility Potential animal handlers must be 16 years of age * BIS clients are adults * Paws for Reading clients are primary school children
Application Pet evaluations typically occur every two months and registration is required. Contact volunteer services or check website for details.
