|Description (Service)||Supported by Halton Community Legal Services as an extension of the legal clinic's commitment to systemic strategies to address poverty and promote human rights.
Collaborates with organizations on shared issues to increase knowledge and influence positive changes, encouraging ongoing partnerships and networks to inform the wider community of anti-poverty advocacy.
The group has active groups in Burlington and Oakville and is working to establish members in northern Halton. Members engage in campaigns to address poverty issues in the region.
Voices for Change Halton provides a platform for those who have experienced poverty-related challenges to speak on a variety of poverty-related subjects including housing challenges, mental health, disabilities and employment challenges from a personal perspective, educate a broad spectrum of the public, advocate for societal change, building the necessary bridges to work cooperatively to break down stigma and discrimination and dispel the myth that there is no poverty in Halton * suited to board meetings, church groups, community services groups, special interest groups
