Description (Service) This record provides an overview of animal control in the Burlington and acts as an index to related records in this database. 
 
Domestic animals 
Bylaws pertaining to animals include: 
* Animal Control Bylaw (covers dog licencing, attacks, cat microchipping, animals at large, poop and scoop issues, dogs on the beach, prohibited and restricted animals, etc.) is enforced by Burlington Animal Shelter (for contact information see separate record here) and City of Burlington Animal Control Officer, 905-335-3030.  
* Noise and Nuisance By-Law (covers noise from pets, such as barking) is enforced by Burlington. Planning and Building Department (for contact information see separate record here).

Wildlife (including bats, mice, raccoons, rats and skunks):  
* For nuisance wildlife or wildlife that has taken up residence inside a home, contact a private wildlife control service.  
* Burlington Animal Shelter removes wildlife only if it is both diseased, injured or dead and outdoors (does not remove nuisance wildlife, or wildlife inside homes, attics or chimneys, does not remove pests such as bees or wasps), for full Burlington Animal Shelter record see here 
* Halton Health Department does not remove wildlife, however the public health office 905-825-6000 ext 7884 will provide general information.
