All City-owned leash-free dog areas are open 
 
The City of Burlington has cancelled all City-run spring and summer programs (this includes activities such as summer camps, recreation programs, festivals and events, swimming and skating drop-ins that were originally offered in the Live & Play Guide)  
* programs will be refunded to the credit card used when possible (others will have a credit placed on their account * cheque refunds will be issued based on specific email requests)  
 
All facility rentals up to and including Sep 7, including arenas, pools, community centres, schools, sport fields and picnics are cancelled  
* rentals will be refunded to the credit card used when possible (others will have a credit placed on their account)  
 
Some recreation facilities, parks, playgrounds, sports fields and City administration facilities are closed to the end of June  
* essential services and those services that provide direct support to keep residents and staff safe will be maintained (these include areas such as Burlington Fire, Burlington Transit including Handi-Van, Traffic Services, ByLaw Enforcement, Roads, Parks and Forestry Operations, Building Inspections and ServiceBurlington)  
* staff continue to work from home to maintain City services such as Community Planning, City Capital Works and various Corporate Services

Fenced leash-free areas for dogs 
 
Rules:  
No aggressive dogs are allowed 
* pit bulls must be muzzled and leashed at all times (Dog Owners Liability Act R.S.O 1990 C.D.16 Ontario Regulation 157/05) 
 
Owners 
* are responsible for the actions of their dog(s) 
* must have control of their dog(s) at all times, whether on or off the leash 
* must stay with their dog(s) at all times 
* should carry a leash at all times 
* may have a maximum of two dogs off the leash at one time 
* must pick up and dispose of their dog's waste 
* must make sure their dog is wearing a current licence tag on its collar and has current vaccinations
