Description (Service)

Welcomes photographers of all skill levels, from beginner to professional

  • members develop photographic skills through the wide variety of programming offered
  • digital and film media are in use and members enjoy opportunities for exhibition and sale of their work

Facilities include:

Darkroom:

  • 12 enlargers (35mm to 4x5) all with timers, some are condenser enlargers, some have color-diffusion heads
  • stainless steel sink, developing tanks and trays
  • storage lockers (members supply own paper and chemistry)

Finishing room:

  • large light table, copy stand, 16"x20" dry-mount press, 42" pro grade matte cutter and 24" paper cutter
  • available to members who have done an orientation workshop
  • users supply own consumables such as photographic paper and dry mount tissue

Photo Studio:

  • 600 square feet with high ceiling, seamless paper backgrounds, strobes, LED lights, black light, umbrellas, soft boxes, reflectors, flash meter and small object table
  • models available on some group nights

Eligibility

Guild members must also be members of the Art Gallery of Burlington

  • children welcome at meetings, but should be accompanied by a parent or guardian as Guild is adult-oriented and images of a mature nature are occasionally on display

Members are expected to volunteer at least 10 hours per year and take an active part in activities

  • in return, participation in programming and use of the darkroom, studio and finishing room are available at no charge, as is participation in exhibition and sales opportunities
