Description (Service)

The City of Burlington was officially twinned with Itabashi, Japan (a suburb of Tokyo) on May 12, 1989 and with Apeldoorn, The Netherlands on May 6, 2005 International in focus, the committee's mandate involves administering the twinning of Burlington with Itabashi, Japan and Apeldoorn, the Netherlands

  • main goal is to promote citizen exchanges in the areas of culture, environment and education
  • mandate also includes the promotion of a world community that promotes global understanding and peaceful cooperation, and organizing an annual celebration of United Nations Day
