DescriptionA specialized service operated by Burlington Transit for people with physical disabilities who have been approved for transportation by the Handi-Van Eligibility Committee * those who are also cognitively impaired may use the service if accompanied by an escort (escort must also pay fare) 
 
Bus service for people with disabilities who have problems boarding public transit, climbing stairs or who cannot walk 175 metres * minimum trip request time is 48 hours in advance upon availability * trips can be booked up to one month ahead * other bookings based on availability 
 
Individuals eligible for Handi-Van are also eligible for the Taxi Scrip program * program users call participating taxi companies directly, use coupons purchased from Handi-Van (a taxi scrip coupon book is sold at a reduced cost to registered photo ID card users, card available from Handi-Van) 
 
Connections to Hamilton DARTS and Oakville Care-A-Van  
Must apply directly to DARTS or Care-A-Van, even if already accepted by Burlington Handi-Van 
Transfer point to Hamilton DARTS is Joseph Brant Hospital * transfer point to Oakville Care-A-Van is at Lakeshore Place Retirement Home (Lakeshore Rd and Hampton Heath)
