Description and Service Details
Description (Service) Community Mentoring: 
One-to-one mentoring in which children are matched with a volunteer(s) and spend 2 to 3 hours once a week out in the community having fun participating in recreational, social and educational activities 
 
In-School Mentoring: 
One-to-one mentoring in which volunteer visits children at school for 1 hour once a week to play games and sports, do crafts and have fun 
 
Connections Project: 
Group mentoring program connecting volunteers with newcomer elementary students 
 
Go Girls! group mentoring program: 
In school group mentoring program for children identifying as girls, aged 12-14 which focuses on physical activity, balanced eating, self-esteem and positive choices 
 
Game On! group mentoring program: 
In school group mentoring program which provides boys and young men with information and support to make informed choices about a range of healthy lifestyle practices

Eligibility Ages: 6 year(s) - 16 year(s) 
 
Boys and girls who would benefit from spending time with an adult role model. 
Volunteers are 18 or older who want to help a child reach their full potential.
Application Contact for information * volunteers needed for children and also to participate in Big Brothers, Big Sisters and Big Couple/Family mentoring programs 
 
Volunteers are carefully screened, through an interview, police clearances, medical reference, other references as well as training. There is ongoing monitoring of matches.
