Service Canada Centre for Youth, Burlington provides summer employment services to both employers and students from April to August.

EligibilityFor some programs eligibility is restricted to clients in receipt of Employment Insurance benefits.
ApplicationEmployment Insurance application can be made via the internet from home or by using a work station at the local HRSDC office. 
 
When applying for Social Insurance Number, a birth certificate is required; if the name has been changed, birth certificate and documentation of name change (Marriage Certificate/Canadian Name Change Certificate). If born in another country, citizenship documents or landed immigrant papers are necessary. Simply gather the document(s) you need and take them to your nearest Service Canada Centre. A Citizen Service Agent will work with you to process your application online. If your application and document(s) are in order, you will get a Social Insurance Number in one visit and receive your card within five working days. Plus, by applying at a Service Canada Centre, you won’t have to send your valuable documents by mail. 
 
If you need to apply by mail, please follow these steps:  
- complete an application form from the Web site or call us to request one  
- gather your original document(s)  
- mail application to Social Insurance Registry in Bathurst, NB
