Public Comments Services altered in response to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) 
 
The City of Burlington has suspended all City-run spring programs and extended the closure of some recreation facilities, parks, playgrounds, sports fields and City administration facilities to the end of June 
* all bookings will be cancelled, and credits will be placed on accounts (refunds will be issued based on requests) 
* essential services and those services that provide direct support to keep residents and staff safe will be maintained (these include areas such as Burlington Fire, Burlington Transit including Handi-Van, Traffic Services, ByLaw Enforcement, Roads, Parks and Forestry Operations, Building Inspections and ServiceBurlington) 
* staff continue to work from home to maintain City services such as Community Planning, City Capital Works and various Corporate Services 
* for further assistance, email city@burlington.ca

City Council is the governing body for the City of Burlington with seven members elected by the residents of Burlington for a four-year term of office through the municipal election process

The City has four Standing Committees that offer policy and operational recommendations to City Council on an ongoing basis

While all City Council members are involved with the resolution of city-wide issues, councillors are directly responsible for ensuring that the issues concerning the residents in each of their six wards are voiced

* the mayor and councillors are members of Halton Regional Council where they have direct input to decision-making related to the delivery of services and programs for Halton Region
