Description and Service Details
Description (Service) Major services, which utilize a variety of strengths-based approaches and resources depending on the unique needs of the child/youth and/or their family: 
 
Group Therapy: Treatment and Counselling for ages 6-13 
* provides group therapy to children/youth experiencing social/emotional difficulties at home, school, and/or in the community 
* groups operate out of the Burlington, Oakville, Milton, and Georgetown locations 
* the child/youth attends one day a week, from 3 pm-7 pm 
 
Reconnecting Youth: Individual and Family Therapy for ages 8-18 
* a community-based program that provides services for youth struggling with social/emotional challenges including trauma, anxiety and depression, which impact their relationships; academic performance and social connections 
* provides individual and family therapy, youth mentorship, and trusteeship for youth ages 16-17 on Ontario Works 
 
Group Therapy: School Focused Treatment and Therapy for ages 7-13 
* group therapy program for children/youth who are experiencing significant emotional, social or behavioral needs that are impacting the school setting and may put them at risk of losing their school placement 
* works in partnership with the family and the school 
* groups operate out of the Burlington and Georgetown locations 
* the child/youth attend, one afternoon a week, from 12 noon-3 pm 
 
The Family Support Program 
* provides support to parents/caregivers in partnership with the Group Therapy: Treatment and Counselling and Group Therapy: School Focused Treatment and Counselling 
* engages families in their children/youth’s mental health 
* operates out of the Burlington, Milton and Georgetown locations 
 
Summer Group Treatment Program 
* provides group therapy for children/youth who have attended previous programs in the Centre 
* builds on the gains that the children/youth have already made with an emphasis on self-esteem, communication skills and emotional regulation 
* divided into two components: centre-based activities and community outings 
* operates 3, two-week sessions in July and August, Mon-Fri, from 9 am-3:30 pm out of the Burlington and Georgetown locations 
 
NYC Autism Program for children ages 8-12 
* a group based program for children who are diagnosed with high functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder (must be able to function independently within a group setting) 
* designed to teach practical day to day social skills to children and youth in a group environment 
* activities that include collaborative games, activities, crafts, cooking and community outings 
* offered four times a year (fall, winter, spring and summer): consists of 8 Saturdays from 9 am-3pm

Summer Program Mon-Thu (Jul-Aug) 9 am-4 pm
