Public Comments Services altered in response to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) 
 
The City of Burlington has cancelled all City-run spring and summer programs (this includes activities such as summer camps, recreation programs, festivals and events, swimming and skating drop-ins that were originally offered in the Live & Play Guide) 
* programs will be refunded to the credit card used when possible (others will have a credit placed on their account * cheque refunds will be issued based on specific email requests) 
* as restrictions from the Province and Public Health are lifted, the City will implement a redesigned or modified program where possible 
 
All facility rentals up to and including Sep 7, including arenas, pools, community centres, schools, sport fields and picnics are cancelled  
* rentals will be refunded to the credit card used when possible (others will have a credit placed on their account)  
 
Some recreation facilities, parks, playgrounds, sports fields and City administration facilities are closed to the end of June  
* essential services and those services that provide direct support to keep residents and staff safe will be maintained (these include areas such as Burlington Fire, Burlington Transit including Handi-Van, Traffic Services, ByLaw Enforcement, Roads, Parks and Forestry Operations, Building Inspections and ServiceBurlington)  
* staff continue to work from home to maintain City services such as Community Planning, City Capital Works and various Corporate Services

* civic Interests: events or service promoting Burlington 
* place making: creating public spaces that promote health and well being 
* sport: team-based activities to enhance well being 
* recreation: activities to promote healthy and active living 
* environment: proactive initiatives to support a healthy environment 
* culture: program and services that support the development of arts and culture 
 
Programs include: 
Park Play Experience Fund: a one-year funding program designed to bring people together and encourage our community to get outside  
 
Neighbourhood Community Matching Fund: allows neighbourhood and community groups to initiate, manage and implement projects that make a difference to the neighbourhood or community group 
 
Community Development Fund: available to support community organizations on a one-time only basis in building capacity to provide programs, services and events for the residents of Burlington 
 
Neighbourhood Rinks: partnership with local residents to support neighbourhood outdoor rinks in city parks 
 
Love My Hood: a year round program designed to build a healthier and stronger community in Burlington by engaging and empowering residents to come together and provide events celebrating their Burlington neighbourhoods 
 
Burlington Arts and Culture Fund: provides grants to local artists, multicultural groups and arts and cultural organizations to foster creativity and enrich how Burlington residents experience and engage with arts and culture 
 
Walk the Talk: program created to inspire Burlington residents to take action and commit to active and healthy lifestyle by creating, promoting and participating in neighbourhood walking groups 
 
Facility Fee Waiver: one-time waiver available to offset a portion of the rental fee for a facility permitted through the City of Burlington utilized by non-profit organizations offering a program, service or event for Burlington residents 
 
Play Street: offers the opportunity for weekly, local street closures which encourage the use of neighbourhood streets for safe, active play and social interaction between neighbours of all ages
