Description (Service) A national youth program funded by the Department of National Defence and administered by the Canadian Armed Forces. 
A free program of activities with an outdoor adventure focus including: 
* leadership development  
* first aid  
* citizenship  
* sports & physical fitness 
* orienteering  
* mountain biking 
* map and compass navigation  
* camping  
* hiking  
* canoeing  
* marksmanship and team building  
* free summer camps  
* participants can earn the Duke of Edinburgh award through this program 
* participation counts toward high school community service hours
