Service DescriptionCommunity Support Programs 
* information and referral regarding health and social service agencies, community groups and organizations, government resources  
* assistance and advocacy support to individuals and families who are experiencing difficulties, especially those who have no other place to go or those who are unable to access services without assistance 
* Income Tax Program has trained volunteers preparing returns for low income clients 
* Needs Coordination matches those who are in need of household items with those who are able to provide them 
* Transitional Housing is available for families who are homeless * rent geared to income * a community support coordinator provides family support 
* Holiday Hampers provides hampers of children's clothing and toys for families who are experiencing financial difficulties 
* Backpack program provides school supplies to children in need 
* Winter Warmth Program provides financial help for Union Gas arrears (in partnership with the United Way) 
* Jumpstart Program provides financial help for kids' sports and recreational activities (in partnership with Canadian Tire) 
* Fresh Food Box supplies fresh produce monthly at a reasonable cost 
 
Seniors Programs throughout Halton 
Home Help: 
* provides in-home assistance with light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation 
Bathing: 
* provides a free, weekly in-home bathing service 
Caregiver Recharge/Respite: 
* regularly scheduled in-home relief for caregivers of seniors and adults with disabilities 
Home Maintenance and Repair: 
* provides help both inside and outside of the home to seniors and adults with disabilities, including yard maintenance, shoveling, painting, window washing, small repairs, and seasonal housecleaning 
Friendly Visiting and Telephone Assurance: 
* volunteer "visitors" are matched with isolated seniors and adults with disabilities for in-home companionship and safety checks 
Client Intervention and Assistance: 
* provides one-on-one support, information and referrals for seniors and adults with disabilities who may be at risk due to a critical change in their life situation including homelessness, bereavement or isolation 
 
Seniors Programs in Halton Hills: 
Meals on Wheels: 
* hot nutritious meals at noon, Monday to Friday, to seniors and people with disabilities 
Meals on Ice: 
* clients choose from a varied menu  
* frozen meals ordered and delivered weekly 
Wheels to Meals: 
* a social outing for seniors twice a month  
* transportation provided to a local restaurant or venue 
Congregate Dining: 
* provides a meal and social activities in seniors buildings 
Letter Carriers Alert: 
* provides reassurance and a check on the well-being of those living alone who receive mail delivery to their door * (in partnership with Georgetown and Acton postal workers) 
Supportive Housing Program: 
* program provides essential support services to eligible seniors living at Lakeview Villa in Acton
