Description and Service Details
Description (Service) A non-profit organization providing assistance to individuals with a developmental disability so that they may live in a state of dignity and participate in all elements of community living to their fullest potential.  
Services for children and youth include: 
Pre-school Inclusion Services (birth to 12 years) 
* available in Acton, Georgetown, Milton and surrounding areas. 
* work with families, licensed child care staff and other professionals 
* provide support to children and their families in the form of case management, programming and advocacy  
* provide consultation to families and centres 
Transitions – Planning For High School to Adulthood (ages 14-25 years) 
* consultation and planning for the transition from high school to the adult community 
* program is designed monthly based on the needs of the participants 
* information sessions on choices about future life directions 
* Resource Coordinators will assist with the transition from school to work opportunities, community based activities, community living and continuing education 
* partner with the Halton Catholic and Halton District School Boards  
* aid in finding a SSAH/respite worker

Recreational & Respite Programs: 
Saturday Centre ages (5-21 years) 
* provides opportunities for school aged children and youth, with developmental disabilities to participate in an enjoyable and friendly recreation program, and respite for their families 
* September to June, twice per month 5.5 hours per Saturday 
* junior and senior programs 
* activities available at the program location include movies, music, games, sports and crafts 
* community events and activities include swimming and bowling or attending community events 
* activities are coordinated according to the interests and abilities of the participants 
* limited spaces available

Summer Camps (ages 5-21 years) 
* crafts, games, swimming, indoor and outdoor activities – all with individual needs taken into consideration 
* full days 
* cost is per week per camper 
* locations in Milton and Georgetown

After School Respite (ages 5-21 years) 
* provides after school care to children and young adults with disabilities 
* Monday through Friday 3 pm-8 pm, September through June on regular Halton School Boards’ school days 
* $40 a day including dinner 
* locations accessible to Milton and Georgetown families 
* activities include games, crafts, baking, painting, sports, outdoor walks, community activities 
* Program is coordinated according to the interests and abilities of the participants

Applied Behaviour Analysis (ages 0-18 years) 
* an evidence based approach to learning that reinforces positive behaviours and reduces problematic ones 
* helps children and youth with an autism spectrum disorder develop communication, social and daily living skills, learn better in school and become more independent 
* services will be available based on an assessment of the child or youth’s specific needs 
* visit to access these services

Criteria for Preschool Inclusion services: 
* for ages birth to 12 years with two developmental delays which must be in specific combinations 
* attending a licensed preschool program (home daycare, daycare centre, nursery school) 
Criteria for Transitions: 
* ages 14-25 
* with a developmental disability
